How much is a fishing licence in Chile?
Foreigners, 2026, sea and freshwater: week CLP 19,900 (0.5 UF), month CLP 39,800 (1 UF), year CLP 59,600 (1.5 UF). Based on the UF value of Dec 31, 2025, rounded up to the next hundred.

Where do you buy a fishing licence for Chile?
You buy the licence online from SERNAPESCA or at an office. Visitors need a passport or national ID card from their home country.

What about children, teens and seniors?
By law, people over 65 and children under 12 are exempt from licence and fee, as are registered people with disabilities who live in Chile.

What applies to visitors from abroad?
Foreigners can only get the combined sea and freshwater licence, for a week, a month or a year.

Each region sets its seasons, catch limits and minimum sizes. Check your region's rules with SERNAPESCA before fishing. not confirmed yet

The price changes every year with the UF value. Visitors over 65 or with children under 12 should ask SERNAPESCA whether the exemption also applies to visitors.

Whether the age exemption (over 65, under 12) also applies to non-residents is not clear from the law text. Regional seasons for 2026/27 not read one by one. ChileAtiende lists only a one-year licence for visitors, the price list a week, a month and a year.
