Licence and rules
To fish you need the German fishing licence, on Rügen for visitors also as a time-limited tourist licence, plus the state coastal permit for lagoons and the Baltic or the permission of the water's manager for inland waters. - Car Via the A20 to Stralsund and over the Rügen bridge, trailers for your own boat are no problem, slipways at lagoons and harbours.
- Train By train to Stralsund, Bergen auf Rügen or Binz, hire car or bike locally.
- Ferry For Denmark combinations from Sassnitz to Rønne (Bornholm) or Trelleborg (Sweden).

Holiday flats and guesthouses in the resorts, campsites with pitches on lagoons and Baltic, fishing camps with boat at the lagoon harbours. Wild camping and overnighting in a motorhome outside sites is not allowed in Germany.

When is the best time for pike in the lagoons?
In autumn, when the pike move into the shallow lagoons, and in spring after the closed season. In summer early and late at deeper edges.
Can I camp freely on Rügen?
No. Tents and motorhomes outside campsites and pitches are not allowed in Germany. Pitches exist on the lagoons and the Baltic.
