Fishing trip to Funen: sea trout from the shore, garfish, flatfish
Over 1,000 kilometres of coast, leopard bottom and reefs on the doorstep: Funen is the place for sea trout in waders, a short drive, holiday house instead of hotel.
Licence and rules
From 18 you need the state angling licence (lystfiskertegn) to fish with a rod, in the sea and in fresh water, over 67 exempt. In fresh water the owner's permission is needed too, at put-and-take lakes a day ticket is enough. Minimum sizes and closed seasons for sea trout apply to visitors as well. All rules with source

Getting there
- Car From Hamburg in a few hours via Flensburg and the E45, the bridges onto the island are toll-free.
- Ferry From Puttgarden or Rostock to Zealand and over the bridge to Funen, or from Kiel to Jutland.
- Train To Odense with a change in Hamburg, hire car locally for the coastal spots.
Boat and shore

- Small boat Many holiday houses sit by harbours with boat hire for cod and flatfish, check the forecast before every trip.
- Put and take Trout lakes all over the island, day ticket on site, no state licence needed.
Lodging and camping
Holiday houses right on the coast are the classic, plus campsites and caravan pitches on almost every beach. Wild tent camping in Denmark is allowed only in designated forests and on nature camping sites, the map is kept by the nature agency.
