Who sets closed seasons and minimum sizes?
Each German state in its fisheries regulation, on the coast also the EU. Water rules and clubs can be stricter.
What do I do with an undersized fish?
Release it gently right away, with wet hands, unhooking it in the water if possible. The same applies to fish in the closed season.
How up to date is this?
Every rule comes from the official regulation text with its retrieval date. We check the states regularly and the EU rules every January.
